I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Florida, New Jersey, and Illinois. I am a licensed psychologist in the UK and Brazil. I have a doctoral degree in Body-Mind medicine with a specialization in Integrative Mental Health (USA), an MSc degree in Health Psychology (UK), an MS Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling (USA), and a Clinical Psychology degree (Brazil). I have advanced certifications in Clinical Hypnotherapy (USA), Sex Addiction (CSAT, USA), Partner Betrayal Trauma (CPTT, USA), Multiple Addictions (CMAT, USA), Biopsychology (Brazil), as a Yoga Instructor (Argentina), and as a Yoga Therapist (Argentina). I am a qualified LMFT supervisor, and I supervise intern therapists in the state of Florida.
I have worked as a licensed psychotherapist in several states in the USA (NJ, IL, FL) and other countries (UK, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, and Argentina). According to customer satisfaction surveys, I have been ranked among the best therapists in my workplace.
I am also a researcher, an educator, a writer, and a speaker. I have participated in relevant research projects, co-authored several peer-reviewed articles, attended several professional conferences, and run workshops in several countries.
I love what I do, and my prosperous professional, academic, multicultural, and personal experience has helped me develop an eclectic therapeutic approach. I customize therapy for individuals based on their cultural, social, religious, and spiritual backgrounds, as well as their distinct stages of growth and needs.
I see my clients holistically, considering all aspects that might be affecting their lives and health. Although I use an evidence-based approach, I also let my intuition guide me, especially with clients who feel the need to embark on a spiritual journey. In this case, I incorporate existential, philosophical, and spiritual approaches in line with individuals’ belief systems. These approaches help individuals to make sense of their experiences, fostering a sense of purpose and meaning. My clients often report that therapy with me is a magical, unique, and transformational experience.
I love letting my intuition flow when treating individuals, exploring integrative and eclectic approaches to healing diverse populations, especially women.
I love learning about human nature and interacting with people from different ethnic, cultural, social, and spiritual backgrounds. I am also an officiant, and I customize meaningful wedding rituals/ceremonies for couples who have been in therapy with me and want to re-signify and renew their vows.
I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and hold therapy sessions in these languages.
I have already visited around 100 countries and have more yet to see. Besides traveling, I love playing tennis and piano, tracking, yoga, meditation, reading, singing, dancing, and cooking.
I love my morning rituals, including tending my herbal garden, walking my rescue dogs, and feeding wild birds and squirrels. Lastly, but also very important, I love to spend quality time with my family, dogs, and friends.
.
After 20 years of living in several places, I have settled down in Miami, where I live with my husband and three adorable rescued dogs.
I have always dedicated time and energy to give back to the community the blessings I have received from life.
I run wellness, yoga, and women’s groups for a voluntary donation, which is reverted to the Scholar Career Coaching (SCC), where I also volunteer as a mentor.
SCC is a mentoring program for disadvantaged students with high potentials in South Florida. It provides services that reinforce students’ capabilities to have a successful professional life, like college and career readiness, financial literacy, and soft skills training.
